Wind River Trust is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization formed to lead a restoration effort at Historic Wind River. Its roots can be traced to a group of retirees who began volunteering to restore historic trail structures on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. As their attention turned to Wind River, a more formal organization was required, so Wind River Trust was created in 2020. The Trust is partnering with Skamania County and the U.S. Forest Service to restore Historic Wind River and create sustainable income for its ongoing maintenance.
